Our History

The original homestead, located on Lakeside Sargent Road in Lacombe County, was purchased in 1946 by EP Woodrow. In recognition of the original Woodrow family settlement in Ontario, the farm was named Ontalta and was passed down to son, Howard and his wife Marg, who farmed here until 2018, when they moved to town.

Edwin, the eldest of Marg and Howard’s three children, and Karen began their farming venture as Krazy Eh Farms in 1991. Initially settling down the road, they moved to their present farmstead a few miles northeast of Marg and Howard in 2000. Here they raised their three children, Alex, Larissa, and Bryce.
2011 saw the merger of Ontalta Farms and Krazy Eh Farms and the succession plan to the next generation began under the name of Woodrow Farms.

Karen and Edwin and the next generation have now joined forces and taken over the operational side of the farm as Krazy Eh Farms. Larissa and her family remain on the original homestead where they are continuing the family tradition of raising sheep. The cattle operation works between the two homesteads.
